Emery D. Goodwin, seventy-nine, died at his home near Knoxville, Sunday morning after an extended illness. Mr. Goodwin was born in Keeneyville, Pa., March 4, 1860, the son of Richard and Martha Saxbury Goodwin. On July 2, 1890, he was united in marriage to Miss Minnie West. For forty-eight years Deerfield Township has been their home where Mr. Goodwin was engaged in farming. Besides his widow, he is survived by one brother, Milton E. Goodwin, of Victoria, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. May Hazlett of Whitesville, N. Y.; Mrs. Luella Carpenter, Westfield, Pa., and nieces and nephews. The body will be taken to the home Wednesday morning where funeral servies will be held Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock, the Rev. Frank Davis of the Knoxville Baptist Church officiating with burial in Middlebury Union Cemetery at Keeneyville. Pall-bearers will be John Hegmann, Glenn Davis, John Bayer, Lynn Doan and Everitt Baker.
