Dennis Ryan 1874-1938

Dennis Ryan, the son of Dennis and Nancy Ryan, was born in Richfield Township, April 16, 1874. Mr. Ryan was baptized into christ in the catholic church in his early youth. He was united in marriage to Miss Eva Huffman, May 15, 1904

To this union were born four children, namely: Ellis M. of Quincy, Emmett G. of Richfield, Loren W. and Eva Delores at home.

He had spent his entire life in this community. He was espically devoted to his family and home.

Besides his devoted wife and four children, he leaves three grand children: Mardelle, Donald and Mary Alice Ryan of Quincy, a sister, Mrs. Alice Cox of Richfield and a half brother, W. Cutsinger of Hannibal, Missouri and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his loss. His father and mother and three brothers, John, Alfred and Elijah have preceded him in death.

His illness, which he bore very patiently, extended over a period of two years. He departed this life very peacefully at his home, here on March 12, 1938 at the age of 63 years, 11 months and 4 days.

A form from us is gone, A voice that now is stilled, A chair is vacant in our home, That never can be filled.
