Maud Fay (Kirtright) Gwartney 1890-1930
Maud Fay, daughter of John and Ella (Nicol) Kirtright, was born December 14, 1890, near Hadley Illinois and departed this life at her home in Atlas Township August 21, 1930, after a few days illness, aged 39 years 8 months and 7 days.
She was united in marriage to Cloyd Saxbury, September 18, 1910, after seven years they seperated and in November 1919 she was married to Milton Gwartney.
She is survived by her husband, father, mother, two sisters: Mrs. Eliza Blacketter, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Mrs. May Billings, New Canton; five brothers, Fred and George Kirtright of Hannibal, Mo.; Oscar Kirtright of Marblehead, Illinois and Edward and John Kirtright, New Canton; her maternal grandmother Mrs. Eliza Nicol, Soldiers and Sailors Home, Quincy, Ill.
Her children are Mrs. Gretta Shy, Hannibal, Mo; Gilbert and Vivian Saxbury and Harold Junior Gwartney at home and one grandchild Stella Jean Shy; one step-daughter of Kansas City, Mo.; three step-sons Lon, Edward and Milton Gwartney all of New Canton; several uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and neices and many friends.
She united with the Methodist Church during the ministry of Rev. McAnally.
