Mrs. Martha (Brackley-Saxbury) Brown 1849-1907

Mrs. Martha Saxbury Brown passed away Sunday morning after suffering for several months from a cancer on her face. Funeral services to be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church with the Reverend H.P. Beek in charge. Burial at Shearer Cemetery, New Canton, IL

Martha A. Brackley was born in Wood Co. Ohio July 27, 1849. In 1857 she came with her parents to Pike Co. Illinois. Here she was married to Benjamin Saxbury in 1867. To this union was born three sons and one daughter. Frank, Albert, William and Nellie.

Mr. Saxbury passed away in 1883. In 1885 she married Marion Peter Brown. She was a member of the Christian Church in Cincinnati in 1897. Surviving are three sons and the daughter and 15 grandchildren.
